OUR STUDIO, YOUR SPACE

Gym backstory:

Vitality Fitness started in the basement of the Hummel Group building on Route 57 in Orrville six years ago. A few friends—guys I had worked with years before—approached me, asking for help with their fitness goals. At the time, I had recently completed my CrossFit Level 1 training and was passionate about both the workouts and encouraging others to push their limits.

What began as a small group of four quickly turned into something special. We pooled our resources, purchased some basic equipment, and spent the next two years strength-training together in that basement. Even then, I knew this was just the beginning.

I envisioned something bigger—something that could serve not just a small group of friends, but an entire community. That dream led to the construction of our current facility, where Vitality Fitness has thrived for the past four years. Today, we’re proud to be a place where people of all fitness levels come together, growing stronger, healthier, more connected, and achieving their fitness goals.

Meet Ben

From a young age, I’ve always been active. In high school, I was a dedicated distance runner, and after graduation, I proudly served as a Marine. Later, I transitioned to a career as a roofer, working hard on the job every day. While physically demanding, roofing kept me moving and strong.

But life took an unexpected turn. After stepping away from the physical demands of roofing and facing challenging times, I became inactive. Stress and anxiety began to take a toll on me, and I reached a breaking point where I knew something had to change. That’s when I turned back to movement—starting with small fitness goals each day.

Little by little, I began to feel better. The gym became my sanctuary, and I quickly realized how transformative daily exercise was for my body and mind. It wasn’t just about fitness; it was about rediscovering myself and my strength.

For the past 20 years, I’ve dedicated myself to learning about the body, fitness, and overall wellness. Today, I’m passionate about sharing that knowledge and helping others grow a stronger mind-body connection—within our incredible Vitality Fitness family.
